Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)
“Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)”
You call  me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find you in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am yours and you are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your Sovereign hand
Will be my Guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t stop now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in your embrace
For I am yours and you are mine
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith would be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Oh, Jesus, you’re my God!
I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am yours and You are mine
That right there is a bold declaration of faith!
I have this strange habit of listening to the same song for days or even weeks over and over again. And this song by Hillsong is one of the songs I have listened to over and over again even years after its release. I absolutely love the lyrics, they are a prayer for me, a proclamation of faith and a way of surrendering to the Spirt. Knowing that I will walk over all my fears and troubles (waves) for He is my guide.
The song is an inspiration to step out of the comfort zone into the unknown. To trust that God never fails and He surely won’t start with me. As it is in Mathew 14; 25 – 31

25 Now in the fourth warch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the desciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of  good chear! It is 1; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter anaswered Him and said, “Lord if it is You, command me to come to You on the water”. 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus, 30. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”. 31 And immediately Jesus streteched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, Why did you doubt?”

God calls us into the unknown and He is with us every step of the way all we need is to have faith and trust  him
